About Glen Lake Animal Hospital

Caring for Minnetonka Pets Since 1966

For more than sixty years, Glen Lake Animal Hospital has been part of the Minnetonka community, caring for generations of local pets and the people who love them. We’ve remained in the same location through every chapter of our history, creating familiarity and consistency for returning clients over the years.

Only a few ownership transitions have shaped the practice over six decades, which is part of why the clinic still feels steady, familiar, and deeply local. Small-animal medicine has always been the focus here, but the types of cases coming through the doors have continued to evolve over the years.

Today, the clinic sees everything from lifelong family pets to hunting dogs, breeding dogs, brachycephalic breeds, and other animals with more specialized medical needs. Vizslas, Weimaraners, Spaniels, retrievers, and working dogs are regular visitors here.

At A Glance...

  • Serving Minnetonka pets since 1966
  • Same clinic location for more than six decades
  • Independently owned through only four ownership transitions
  • Experienced with hunting dogs, working breeds, and reproductive cases
  • Advanced breeding and reproductive services offered in-house

A New Chapter Under Drs. Brittney Brock & Jordan Butler

Two women wearing gloves hold newborn puppies and smile at the camera in a veterinary clinic setting.

In February 2026, Drs. Brittney Brock and Jordan Butler became the newest owners of Glen Lake Animal Hospital, bringing their own style of medicine while keeping the personality of the clinic intact.

They’re not interested in rushed appointments or one-size-fits-all recommendations. Brittney and Jordan prefer tailored medicine, straightforward conversations, and treatment plans built around the actual pet sitting in front of them.

Some dogs walk into the clinic like they own the place. Others need extra snacks, extra patience, or a little time to settle in. That’s normal here.

Reproductive medicine has also become a major part of the practice. From fertility evaluations and litter x-rays to c-sections and neonatal support, the clinic works closely with breeders who want experienced oversight without losing the personal connection that smaller practices still offer.

Even after sixty years, Glen Lake Animal Hospital still feels like the kind of place where people are greeted by name, staff members remember pets long after appointments end, and clients know they’ll get honest answers.

Why Families Choose Us

A Personal Approach to Veterinary Care

At Glen Lake Animal Hospital, appointments are built around conversation. Clients ask questions. Doctors explain recommendations clearly. Treatment plans are adjusted based on the pet, the situation, and what realistically works best for the family involved. There’s no cookie-cutter playbook here.

Some pets need straightforward preventative medicine. Others need more advanced diagnostics, reproductive work, mobility support, or long-term management for chronic conditions. The clinic focuses on individualized care instead of pushing the same approach for every patient.

The Best Veterinary Visit? The One That Prevents the Next One

Routine exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, nutrition guidance, and health screenings designed to catch concerns earlier and help pets stay healthier long-term.

Your Pet Isn’t Generic. Neither is Their Care

Recommendations built around your pet’s breed, activity level, age, lifestyle, and medical history instead of standardized protocols.

Your Pet's Care Team Extends Beyond Our Walls

Access to trusted referral partners for rehabilitation, acupuncture, chiropractic support, advanced imaging, and specialty procedures when additional support makes sense.

“Dogs With Jobs”? You’ve Found Their Vet!

We regularly work with hunting dogs, agility dogs, service dogs, breeding dogs, and other active breeds with more specialized medical needs.

Your Grandparents' Vet. Your Parents' Vet. Your Vet.

Clients continue seeing familiar faces, having direct conversations with their veterinary team, and getting recommendations based on the pet in front of them, not a corporate checklist.

Care Designed Around Your Pet’s Needs

Experienced Care for Everyday & Specialized Needs

Some pets come in for routine wellness visits. Others need support for reproduction work, mobility concerns, chronic conditions, or more specialized medical needs. Glen Lake Animal Hospital works with dogs and cats of all ages, including plenty of hunting dogs, agility dogs, and other “dogs with jobs,” while keeping visits straightforward, collaborative, and easy to navigate.

Sick Pet Exams

Ear infections, upset stomachs, limping, skin concerns, sudden changes in behavior. When something feels off, the team works to identify the cause and talk through the next steps clearly.

The clinic performs spays, neuters, soft tissue procedures, mass removals, and other surgeries with a strong focus on safety, pain control, and recovery support.

Dentistry & Oral Health

Dental disease can impact far more than just your pet’s teeth. Professional cleanings and oral evaluations help improve comfort, health, and quality of life.

Reproduction & Breeding Services

Advanced Reproductive Care for Breeders & Breeding Dogs

Reproductive medicine is a major part of what Glen Lake Animal Hospital does. The clinic works with breeders throughout Minnetonka and the surrounding communities on everything from fertility evaluations and insemination to pregnancy management, c-sections, and neonatal support.

A lot of these dogs are athletes, hunting companions, service animals, or highly specialized breeding dogs. They’re “dogs with jobs,” and their medical needs are often very different from the average household pet.

Breeding programs also come with plenty of planning, nervous waiting, late-night phone calls, and unexpected situations. The team understands that side of the process too.

The People Behind Glen Lake Animal Hospital

Meet The Entire Team

Some pets sprint through the front door like they’ve been here a hundred times. Others need a slower introduction, a quiet room, or a few extra treats first. The doctors and support staff at Glen Lake Animal Hospital understand both types well.

The team works together on everything from routine wellness visits and surgery days to reproduction cases, nervous first appointments, and complicated medical questions. There’s a lot of experience here, but there’s also a lot of personality.

Hi! My name is Birdie. You can find me at the front desk greeting you or yelling at my co workers. My days consist of taking naps in my cubby back in the pharmacy, snacking on churu’s and getting caught snagging a taste of the plastic garbage bags around the clinic, they are organic… so it’s ok. Also, on occasion you may find me and my brother Connor in a wrestling match… I always win. Ladies don’t start fights but they can finish them.

I am so excited to see you the next time you come visit Glen Lake Animal Hospital!

Hi! My name is Connor! You probably won’t see me around the clinic much since I do a lot of the “behind the scenes” work.

My job at Glen Lake Animal Hospital is very important. I take pride in being the emotional support assistant. I lay with the surgery patients on the warming blanket during dental cleanings so they feel comfortable and reassure them they’re in good hands! I also monitor the doctors to make sure they do everything correctly!
In my free time, I enjoy sleeping on clean towels, watching birds/squirrels, and snack time! (No, I don’t enjoy eating trash bags, in fact I think they’re the scariest creature!
